How do first responders train for real action?

Partners from STAMINA took part in a successful event about public protection and disaster relief. It took place on 20 November 2020 and was hosted by the Public Safety Communications Europe Forum.

The Webinar titled “Use Cases and Scenarios for Good Practitioner-led innovation in PPDR” featured speakers from the University of Lancaster, Trilateral Research, the University of Munster, and EXUS Innovation. Some concrete solutions prepared in three EU-funded projects — STAMINA, IN-PREP, and iTRACK— were presented. Each of these projects is pooling resources to assess the best methods in effective disaster response and preparedness.

Presentations included:

  • Use Cases and Scenarios for ‘good’ PPDR Innovation: Setting the scene, Monika Büscher, Lancaster University, UK
  • Engaging societal and ethical impact with uses cases and trials, Katrina Petersen (Trilateral Research) and Adam Widera (University of Munster)
  • Presenting Scenario Builder, Anax Fotopoulos, EXUS Innovation
  • Gaming as a research method, Tina Comes, Delft University

More than 150 participants registered from 22 countries across Europe and beyond. After the webinar, an interactive workshop took place where participants could openly discuss and exchange ideas on the webinar topic.
