In the lead up to completing the first year of the STAMINA project, our network has grown significantly from where we started. We are now proud to have an international group of stakeholders following the project’s progress.
In July 2021, two members of the STAMINA consortium met with Mr. Fernando Simón, an epidemiologist and Director of the Coordination Centre for Health Alerts and Emergencies (CCAES), led by the Spanish Ministry of Health. Over the past year, he has been faced with the challenging task of leading the pandemic crisis response in Spain. Our two STAMINA members, José Luis Diego, coordinator of PLV’s European Projects Unit and Carmen Castro, project manager of STAMINA, enjoyed a productive meeting with Mr. Simón, who had shown interest in the STAMINA project in relation to his work.
We are pleased to announce that following this meeting, Mr. Simón has agreed to participate as a high level speaker in the EU Summit that PLV will organise on behalf of STAMINA in 2022. He will also act as an observer of the Spanish pilot that will close the Summit.
